Here's something a bit special for you. I led my latest Peak District Sunrise to Sunset Workshop at the weekend. It was a really good day, with a nice blend of testing conditions and a great sunset to give everyone a challenge as well as some great shots. It was a long day but very rewarding and I've already had some great feedback from the participants. I thought I'd put together this 'short' (40 mins) video with the few images that I took on the day to further talk through some of the ideas we covered. Originally I was just going to send this out to the workshop team but then I thought "what the hey I'll release into the wild (aka the internet)" in case it's helpful for someone else.
I'm at pains to point out that I don't tend to make my own photographs during a workshop, and as this workshop was fully booked I was fully occupied with helping each of the attendees. But I do take my camera equipment with me as it's great for demo purposes in particular sighting a shot. I'll often take quick handheld snapshots so I can show someone what I'm seeing on the back of the camera. As such they are quickly made, technically imperfect and almost always only suitable for the virtual trash can. But before I bin them I thought they'd provide some talking points, so here they are.
With the 'these images aren't very good' caveat now in play, here's the video. I hope you find it informative. If you do please share it with your friends and signup to my mailing list so that you get more great content straight to your mailbox!
ps I'll try to jazz up any future videos I do; this is sort of like 'Andy Murray Does Photography Workshops'. I don't sound so dour normally (I hope!).
pps the video is in 1080p HD so for the best quality (i.e. so you can read the onscreen text) make sure to click on the gear icon in the bottom right and select "1080p HD".
