What You Can Expect

The taking of a photograph is only one part of the photographer’s workflow. There is much skill and even more work required to edit (select), process, and finish images for publication. This intensive 1 day workshop is intended to cover these areas and give you the knowledge and skills to process your images with confidence.

To maximise your learning this is a very small workshop limited to 3 attendees, based in my home studio here in Townsend, NSW. Over the course of the day we will cover the following topics:

• End-to-end workflow: Import, Editing, Processing, Sharpening & Noise Reduction, Creative Effects, Export

• Image organisation on the computer and in Lightroom, including backup strategy

• How to use Lightroom and Photoshop

• Colour management and studio set-up

• Web publication

• Printing

Throughout there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions about the topics under discussion as well as any others that may be troubling you. As well as being an experienced photographer my background is in software development and IT. I have a strong understanding of computer equipment and software, as well as the ability to explain often technically complex subjects in plain English.

By the end of the day you will have a good understanding of a solid end-to-end process to select and process your photographs for maximum effect. Attendees are welcome to bring their own photographs that we can discuss and process. Perhaps bring a few that you’ve been struggling with? For an additional fee, you can join me for a field-based workshop the night before this workshop which will give you fresh photographs to process on the day.

As ever the day is backed with my post-workshop support via email/phone where I will address any questions you have with regards to applying what you’ve learned to your own system and process.
